Poverty and malnutrition: Poorness is one of the biggest causes of disability. Poor people are most able to be hurt by disability because they are forced to live and work in unsafe conditions. They have little access to education, clean water, or enough good food. The mother cannot provide proper nutrition, folic acid, and medication this results in a poor growth of the baby in the womb. War In wars, more people are killed or disabled, and most of them are women and children. Explosions cause people to become (unable to hear), blind, and lose their limbs, as well as causing other injuries. Their mental health is also badly affected by the violence. Land mines, groups of bombs,bullets, and chemicals used in wars cause more disabilities. Many people have suffered after being exposed to huge amounts of radiation. Some disabilities are known to be received, such as spinal muscular shrinking of muscles (from not using them)and muscular dystrophy (sicknesses of the muscle and of the nerve cells that carry signals from the brain to the muscle, making the muscles of the body get weaker and weaker and slowly stop working). Women who already have one or more physical (features/ qualities/ traits) of Down syndrome, small mouth, hangs open; roof of mouth is high and narrow; tongue hangs out eyes that slant upward; sometimes cross-eyed or poor sigh tears low children with a born-in disability are more likely to give birth to another child with the same problem. Children born to mothers 40 years of age or older are more likely to have Down syndrome. However, most disabilities are not received. Neither are they 'caused' by the mother in any meaningful way.
