I feel that school should start later in the day. In my next few paragraphs I will talk about, the acceptable things about starting school later in the day and the crummy parts about starting school later in the day.

To begin with teenagers usually need 8.5 hours of sleep a day. Not enough sleep for students has gone to far. 22,000 kids all across the USA are stressed and tired for school. School should start later because starting school early is not just a student complaint, it's an observation backed up by science. Studies have shown the brain doesn't properly function until two hours after students leave there rooms in the morning. 70 percent of teens aren't getting enough sleep. Activities also can interfere with a students sleep.

Most middle schoolers and high schoolers are sleep deprived because school starts too early. Most schools start really early, causing students to not get enough sleep. Schools should start later to prevent emotional disorders, depression, and anxiety from being sleep deprived.
Pulling all-nighters because of a difficult test/final is becoming more common as students get older. Students stay up all night studying for their test only able to squeeze in a couple of hours of sleep. Then they end up fatigued or even falling asleep during the test. This results in you not doing the best you could have done if you were more focused and awake. Grades K-12 should start school no later than 9:00 am because this reduces the probability of health problems, lowers the risk of teen crashes, and improves students academic performance.
I’m pretty sure most people hate getting up super early in the morning to get to school. Am I right? Well I think it’s the worst! In my opinion, I think school should start later because it is better for one’s health and it’s better for students’ concentration in class. Around seventy percent of kids are sleep deprived. If schools had later start times then, kids and teenagers would be able to have extra hours of sleep. Lack of sleep can be associated with many risky problems, that can lead to serious consequences. You are sitting in your classroom and the teacher is teaching the class a new lesson. You start to fall asleep and soon you wake up and realize that you have an assignment and have no clue how to do it because you had fell asleep during class. Now you have to go up to the teacher and embarrass yourself by asking the teacher to reteach the lesson to you because you fell asleep in class. Schools should start later and students wouldn’t have this problem.
If we had late start every day then the school would have to push back sports. People would also have to quit sports or not be able to play as much if they were doing out of school sports. Also people wouldn’t be able to do as much after school. Kids would also wait last minute to do homework.
For about 20 years now, school districts across the United States have debated delaying high school start times to start later so adolescent students are allowed more time to sleep, which studies say helps school performance and brain development. Schools should have a later start time. A lot of people will argue that that the start time of schools is good as is right now. In my opinion, there are several reasons as to why schools should start later. Kids/Teenagers function better later in the day rather that early in the morning, it would improve attendance of schools, and the most important meal of the day.
Everybody knows it: a teenager’s favorite activity to do is sleep. In fact, for some teenagers, it seems as though that is all they do. This may not be a case of laziness however, since recent studies have said that a teenager’s sleep rhythms make it difficult for them to go to sleep and wake up early. This is an important issue because starting schools later has many positive effects. Some positive effects of starting school later is improvements in grades, test scores, and overall performance in core subjects. Another positive effect of starting schools later is that students will be more attentive, have a better memory, a better mood, and a better behavior and executive function.
