To me, if I don’t like the idea of a job out there, I’m not going to do it or even consider it. Choosing a career that I’m in love with, pays well, and is something I really want to do is what I’m looking for. These days, most jobs require people who are educated and have good job skills. Therefore, the people who want a good job have to study hard and at least graduate with a high school education. People who follow through with high school and work hard at a college education can almost always achieve the career of their dreams.
However, Gladwell’s writing has informed me that anyone, if they are prepared to work hard, can reach their goals. Learning Frameworks itself has offered myself and many others a jumping off point for the looming workload of college. I feel more prepared and motivated than ever to excel in my courses. Typically, I hold myself up to the average standard in my classes. I wish to take more initiative in my endeavors, but am somewhat unwilling to put in both the time and attention.
One shouldn’t ask how can I get my degree, but rather how they can get the most out of their degree. The audience of Becoming a Learner is future or current college students. This is a wide range of people, but this story can be beneficial to all who will be in search of a job after college. By telling his audience how to become a learner before they graduate with a degree they will be able to apply his ideas and get the most out of their education. This medium is very important because it gives the audience purpose for reading the piece.
V. Debriefing the thinking process: Closure activities focus student discussion on thinking processes to develop awareness of strategies that can be applied to other learning situations. VI. Self- Evaluation: Guided self- evaluation experiences can be introduced through individual conferences and checklists focusing on thinking processes. Students will learn to transfer strategies to support other situations. As an Early Childhood educator, I support using metacognition as a strategy to promote independent thinking.
By getting accepted as a Coolidge I will have the mentoring experience that I have always wished for. I will also get to become an impregnable leader through the training program. This is important because to improve a community one has to be an exemplary leader first. Furthermore, I would love to become a greater leader because currently in my generation, regrettably, only one member has gone to college. My parents unfortunately did not even get a full elementary education because of this I see on a daily basis how a life without proper education is like.
It took me a long time to realize, some might even say it is a little late, but I believe I could strive to accomplish my college career successfully. I am on a path to work towards my goals, to grow up and show how thankful I am to my parents for opening up this road for a better future for me. Other than working with different people, college students will have to take action and responsibility on their own. For instance, they will have to wake up and be on time for their classes, get there work done and then have time for themselves. “You don’t have to be great to get started, but you have to get started to be great.“Les Brown. Finally, going to college is what you make it. You have to surround yourself with positive people and have a positive mindset you shouldn’t go just for the money, it’s a lot of opportunity in going to college.
This will show that you are willing to put forth the effort necessary to succeed; that you care about your future and being successful. You will also be able to list awards and scholarships that you received while in college. You will also be able to use instructors as references. April Silverthorn puts it best in The Nine Greatest Myths Plaguing Students and New Professionals, “Your GPA is very important as you make the transition into a career. As a new professional with little else to go off of, what you achieved while in college is critical to prove your value to prospective employers.
Critical thinking is an important skill in academics and life. It is difficult because it requires an active mind, and as a result there are many natural mental barriers to utilizing it. A time when critical thinking was challenging for me was when I was debating the necessity of going to college with a close friend. This was in sophomore year when we were beginning to seriously contemplate our future lives after high school. In this debate, I took the side that college was necessary in order to be successful in life; my friend believed there were other paths one could take and still achieve the same level of success through other avenues like trade schools or apprenticeships.
I don't want to be procrasonating on classwork or projects because that is something that will not always work out for me in the long run. The teachers will remember me but in a negative way because i would always turn in my work late or it would look un I want the most out of my highschool years and to get all the help and benefits that I can while im here. I also want to get as many college credits as i can to help contribute to my college education. I really want to make sure I do an excellent job in my
