RESEARCH DESIGN
Research Methodology
A trend analysis design in tracing the graduates’ employability using purposive sampling was used to quantify employment-based variables that can uncover patterns and conclusive data vital to the study. It uses formal instruments like survey questionnaires and interviews to collect data information about the tourism management graduates of Cebu Normal University.
Research Environment The locality of the research is within the property of Cebu Normal University – Main Campus for the reason that the respondents are the graduates of this university. It is located along the Jones Avenue road, Osmeña Boulevard, Cebu City.

The first questionnaire contains the Bachelor of Tourism Management profile in which the first part comprises of the graduates’ employability profile: employment status and work category whether they worked in a tourism-related, tourism-centered or non-tourism industry; the second part comprises of the factors that influences the employability of the graduates which include queries about their personal attributes/special skills, motivation of work and skill mastery pertinent to the problem statements presented beforehand. The last part is the graduates’ level of satisfaction in their present job in terms of their relationship with the management, co-workers, compensation and achievements. The second questionnaire is for the graduates’ industry partners/employers. The first part of the second questionnaire comprises of the factors influencing their employees’ employability: personal attributes/special skills and skill mastery, while the second and last part comprises of the employers level of satisfaction towards the tourism management graduates as there employee. There would be tables to measure the motivation of work, skill mastery, and level of satisfaction in which it is in a form of a summative scale, considering 4 as the highest and 1 as the …show more content…
II. Factors Influencing Employability of the Graduates
Range Interpretation Meaning
1.0 – 1.75 Needs Improvement Employees indicate that they need improvement in that specific skill.
1.76 – 2.5 Poor Employees indicate that they are poor in that specific skill.
2.6 – 3.25 Good Employees indicate that they are good in that specific skill.
3.26 – 4.0 Excellent Employees indicate that they are excellent in that specific skill.
III. Level of Satisfaction

1.0 – 1.75 Not Satisfied Employees are not satisfied by the way they have been treated by the management, with their fellow co-workers, the salary they have been receiving and how their achievements are being recognized in the workplace/ Employers are not satisfied with the graduates’ work performance in terms of their creative and critical thinking skills, and interpersonal and leadership skills.

There are many factors that are discussed in this article that effect a person’s opportunities. In this article the author uses analytic statements to help express her research and her ideas. I do not believe that the author of this article is biased in anyway and I think she has done a great job of presenting her argument in an intelligent, factual way.
