Teachers have a very important job and taking away their summer would make it harder. If you take away a teachers summer how are they supposed to plan new lessons or fix on old ones without the extra time. During summer break teachers learn how to use new classroom tools that they will be expected to use during the next school year. They have to re-organize their classroom over the summer too. Also when it is summer break many teachers take classes to get a higher teaching degree.
The first reason why kids should not have summer break is because we need to catch up in school. According to Carolyn Mctighe, she reports that the rest of the world is way ahead of America in the academic world. Even though kids think they need a summer break that averages out to about 3 months, they don’t. Just think in those 3 months what kids could forget, almost half of the information he or she learned in school that year (Mctighe). Kids need summers to learn not to take vacation because most students forget what they learned.
“Summer Runnin’ is Comin’” is a poem that describes the anticipation of a high school kid as the school year comes to an end. After “watching the clock tick”(Periard 2) throughout the school year, the average kid cannot wait to get out. The first quatrain contains description of the school life. Someone who conscientiously working through essays and assignments but as the school year ends, they becomes less and less verbose. The quatrain describes how quickly the year's gone by, how time has almost disappeared because the student was so preoccupied with his work.
I believe that year round schooling is bad.My reasons for that arethat year round schooling would cost schools to much money, the quality of instruction is more importantthe time spent in school, and for some kids it’s hard to pay eattention for long periods of time. I think that my reasons are reasonable.Because it already takes a good amount of money for schools to go for nine months of school.Making school all year round would make it hard for schools to pay for supplies, buses, salaries, heating, and air conditioning. Also research shows that longer school doesn’t increase the quality of how much kids are learning very much.Another thing is kids with ADHD can’t pay attention for long periods of time, and kids that are very active need to get fresh
These students have families that they need to support with better jobs, and in order to achieve those better jobs, the older students need to go back to school to earn the degrees that the jobs require. It is much easier said than done however. These older students who are trying to integrate back to school so they can help their families are unable to receive the job they need since the charge of the school is out of their reach. It is even harder for parents of new graduates to pay for college. The prices of schools in states “have skyrocketed in the last five years” (Citation).
They start in August and end in June . They go nine weeks and then get a two week break off. A traditional school starts in September and it ends in June. They also go 180 days, but they only get a few short breaks around the holidays. I like year round schooling because they have some time off, and they also have extra activities.
People fail to realize that high school is easier than college since it involves much more challenging things to do, and both have education roots involved that are different in many ways. From my experience I can honestly say that colleges are much better than high school. However, I learned through my experience that college is better because you get to experience all sorts of kind of things like being a responsible adult, and trying to better yourself with time management skills than in high school. Even though, colleges are very pricey I think it’s worth every penny. Therefore, we can graduate from college and turn our dreams to reality like the way we always envisioned in high
The college years are characterized by quite a bit of change. For many people college is the beginning of new phase in life and it involves the process of being independent. Going away from home to school and taking an additional responsibility of working is believed to be stress inducing. Decisions making about one's life, trying to impress at work and keeping studies as the main agenda may sometimes be very stressful and bring a lot of pressure for college
I thought this opportunity would not be one worth wild, but I am excited to return to my new school and new friends at the beginning of the next year and after the winter break. It may have taken me a couple of months into this school year to grow into the idea of switching schools, but now I could not be happier and cannot wait for softball season to meet even more
They use that time to take time off from school and responsibly and just live in the moment. American Teens should take a Gap Year between high school and college, because it will give them a chance to travel the world, discover new things about themselves, and help them perform better in college after a year. Many high schooler’s dream
Gladwell begins with showing how America has trouble with education crisis. Arguments about education surround around teachers and students. Gladwell believes that summer vacation is an issue because it tends to be a long vacation required by the district. Gladwell demonstrates how achievement in many ways holds existence to a summer break without driving apart higher income children. Allowing them more months of school to make those children who cannot afford to have a productive summer, to have a useful.
Students learn better in year round schools.I say yes that student should have school all year long. The article says that kids forget what they learned over the summer. If students says in school all year long then they will not forget what they learned. Not many schools are doing all year long schools. The reson that the say this is because they don’t want to have to pay bills.
Under the year-round calendar, it may be more difficult to schedule activities such as sports, or band, due to the constant schooling, and frequent breaks. According to the National Education Association, “... extracurricular activities, like sports and band, may be more difficult under the year-round schedule” (Text 2,2). This text states that scheduling may be difficult for some activities under the year-round calendar; however, that may not always be the case. Schedules for sporting events, band, and other activities could easily be fit under the year-round schedule, because there are still weekends, and frequent breaks that activities could be fit under the year-round schedule, because there are still weekends, and frequent breaks that activities could be fit under. In conclusion, the year-round calendar has many advantages over the traditional calendar; such as, decreasing student, and teacher burnout, while also decreasing the amount of time spent reviewing.
Questions about education always are debatable- how to improve it, how students can get possible education, what is the best way to teach students, etc. A constant discussion in the USA – should schools be in session year round? When schools just started to work, summers were necessary because children needed to do farm work, however nowadays summer vacation from school does not have any more that purpose. Year-round education is a concept which reorganizes the school year to provide more continuous learning by spacing the long summer vacation into shorter, more frequent vacations throughout the year (Johnson). Year-round schools may be on a single-track or multi-track schedule.
Students stress level would be higher from all the constant work they would have to do, with no breaks would be confused. The mind would need more time to regulate the school times. If students worked all year long they would get too stressed and more of them would drop out. Plus, kids wouldn’t have much time with their loved ones. Students, like myself, wouldn’t be able to spend as much time
