This means that there is a significant difference between the organizations that train their employees and organizations that do not. There exists a positive association between training and employee performance. Training generates benefits for the employee as well as for the organization by positively influencing employee performance through the development of employee knowledge, skills, ability, competencies and behavior (Mutsostso & Wanyama ,2010). Organizations that are dedicated to generating profits for its owners (shareholders), providing quality service to its customers and beneficiaries, invest in the training of its employees. The more highly motivated a trainee, the more quickly and systematically a new skill or knowledge is acquired. There are four prerequisites for learning: Motivation comes first. Cue is the second requirement. The learner can recognize related indicators (cue) and associate them with desired responses with the help of training. Response comes third. Training should be immediately followed by positive reinforcement so that the learner can feel the response. Last is the feedback; it is the information which learner receives and indicates in the quality of his response. This response must be given as quickly as possible to make …show more content…
Investment in human capital through higher qualifications and training is considered as a key step towards achieving sustained long term productivity. There is a positive relationship between training and employee performance. At Chipotle, training employees is a company philosophy that aims at helping workers become familiar with the company's activities and perform accordingly, making employees more efficient since they can multitask (Fleming and Weiss, 2015). Additionally, the company supports that they need to cultivate the performance of their workers to ensure that the quality of work that their employees do is outstanding and attractive towards their customers, which in turn increases the company's sales, therefore enhancing the growth and development of Chipotle. Moreover, training employees reduces employee turnover, which every business tries to ensure is lower since increasing the morale and engagement of workers also helps reduce training costs, and Chipotle's transparency helps employees
Week two talks about leadership qualities. Leadership is how an individual influences another individual or groups to achieve a common purpose. For a leader to achieve its set purpose or vision towards individual, organization, or a group, influence is the aim. Influence, therefore is the ability to direct or indirect manipulation to get others to act or respond in accordance to a leader’s want or desires. When a leader leads, the leader will often times have the people he or she is leading conform to his or her ways of doing things or at least agrees with the leader, which in this case regard as being obedience.
Leadership is an innovative process that aligns professionals with a goal, objective or vision statement. Leadership is defined as emerging and supporting a vision for instructing by learning and communicating a visional statement effectively. Leadership exemplifies the art of leading others to deliberately create a result. In leadership, leaders display themselves as a guiding tool for others in this case for teachers. In leadership, it is important that leaders coordinate the effective management of resources, namely time, material and people, to ensure that they are conveying an effective teaching and learning environment.
Leadership is the ability of one to organize or lead a group of people. A leader should be respectful, a leader is bound to know what goal is attempted to be reached. My favorite leadership quote is by Chris Hadfield, “Ultimately, leadership is not about glorious crowning acts. It 's about keeping yourself and people around you focused on a goal and motivated to do the best to achieve goals in life, especially when the stakes are high and the consequences matter greatly. It is about laying the groundwork for others ' success, and finally standing back and letting them shine.”

Their efforts have earned respect from the employees as seen in feedback from employees on their website. The employee development and training initiatives are one of the biggest impacts they can have on their employees. “Training and development play a vital role in the effectiveness of an organization” (Falola, Osibanjo, & Ojo 2014).

Leadership Analysis Introduction One of the popular definitions of a leader is, "The only definition of a leader is someone who has followers." ( ) A more comprehensive definition that highlights striking features of a leader is, "A simple definition of leadership is that leadership is the art of motivating a group of people to act towards achieving a common goal.” ( ) A closer scrutiny of the characteristics of an influential leader would many ways assist one, in recognizing those attributes in an attempt to assimilate the best in others.
Leadership has been defined in a variety of ways, there are multiple authors and theorists who have tried to define and understand leadership, all leading to varying theories and conclusions, but one thing that is universally understood is the importance of effective leadership and how someone with good leadership skills can impact so many people around them. (Kakabadse and Kakabadse, 1999; Yukl, 2002; Northouse,2013) The main components that have been identified to play a role in leadership are relations between leader and subordinates, interaction form between leader and followers, the influence that the leader has, the way in which the leader behaves and finally a leader’s traits. (Yukl, 2002) These elements that make up a leader, are then used as building blocks to identify the way in which each specific leader deals with its followers.
For example, if the training conducted does not help improve employee skills then the time and effort put into the training for both the trainer and employee would be wasted. It would be better for the staff to direct their efficiency and target that time to work on the financial benefit of the firm (Price, 2007; Dessler,

‘Organizations provide its managers with legitimate authority to lead, but there is no assurance that they will be able to lead effectively’ (Lunenburg, 2011). Organizational success usually requires a combination of both management and leadership. In today’s dynamic work environment, leaders are expected to challenge the present state of affairs, and to motivate and convince organization members. Managers are needed to assist in creating and maintaining a positive and well-functioning workplace. ‘Leadership and management are often considered practically overlapping concepts’ (Bohoris and Vorria, 2007, p. 1).
Researchers have shaped compelling evidence for the fundamental relation between employee performance and how management acts with them (Boheene & Asuinura, 2011). They claim that the effectiveness of human resource practices, particularly employee selection, performance appraisals, benefits and reward management, procedures and employee training and development often have a direct effect on the productivity and performance of the employee. And implementing an effective human resource management can enhance the organization 's ability to attract and maintain qualified and motivated employees yield greater profitability, low employee turnover and these invariably lead to higher productivity.
