Types of Air Pollutants:
The two types of air pollutants are primary pollutants, which enter the atmosphere directly, and secondary pollutants, which form from a chemical reaction that occurs when pollution is exposed to sunlight.
Some Primary Air Pollutants may include: - carbon oxides
- nitrogen oxides
- sulfur oxides
- particulates
- lead
- volatile organic compounds
Some Secondary Air Pollutants may include: - Photochemical smog
- Nitrogen oxides
- Ozone Ozone is one of the major secondary pollutants. It is both a pollutant and a greenhouse gas.
About air pollution
What is Air Pollution?
Air pollution occurs when harmful substances including particulates and biological molecules are introduced into Earth's atmosphere. It may cause

How to Stop Air Pollution!
1. Use Public Transportation:
Use your vehicle a lot less often. Carpool and rideshare when you have the ability to do so and consider using public transportation instead of walking; that way, you aren’t contributing to all of the issues that the air is already dealing with before adding your car to the mix. 2. Drive Smart:
If you are driving on a regular basis, make sure that you are driving smart instead of wasting gas. Drive within the speed limit, make sure that there aren’t a lot of things in your car that will weigh it down, and do all that you can to conserve the amount of gas that you will be using on a regular basis. 3. Buy Energy Efficient Vehicles:
Buy vehicles and other items that are helpful to the environment. There are so many options that you have now that are either efficient on gas or they are hybrids, so you don’t have to worry about them putting additional gas and pollution into the atmosphere. If you’re looking for a new car, go energy efficient if you
It is Not like We Need It to Breathe or Anything - the Issue of Air Pollution in Utah One of the largest issues that our society currently faces as it moves towards the future is the issue of air pollution, and its effects on our daily lives. A negative externality caused by our dependence on modern technology, industrial fields, and engineering, this increasingly dangerous impurity is harmful to both nature and people. Air pollution is a constant problem all over the United States, especially in the larger industrial sectors such as large cities where fossil fuels are constantly being burned by factories, motorized vehicles, and power plants. In the state of Utah, air pollution is a constant problem caused by many different factors, such
Some cities in china have everyone wear gas masks when they go outside. That 's just tragic! Can you imagine getting lung cancer for standing outside for 10 minutes? Cars can release 2 different kinds of pollution. There is primary pollution that goes straight into the air to pollute it and secondary pollution.
Cars are the most important products in the modern lifestyle. Whether it’s going to work, school, the mall, or even your friend’s house, it’s likely that you will be using a car to get there. As you all know, cars can have drastically different prices and look drastically different as well. I’m sure everyone here has a car, and I’m also sure everyone here will be buying another car in the future. Whether you want a car that can fit a large amount of people, or a sports car that can go extremely fast, an electric car will almost always be the best option for you.
Many owners of electric cars have reported savings of up to tens of thousands of dollars a
1. Introduction Air pollutin is a public health concern and it has been since the discovery of fire. Incidents and episodes of air pollution have been recorded throughout the history. Air pollution is divided into two, it is the indoor air pollution and the outdoor air pollution. Indoor air pollution is produced in households or at offices by pollutants such as tobacco smoke, household products or pesticides.
First of all, let’s talk about the environment. I’m sure you all know about greenhouse gases and global warming, so I won’t talk much about that, but you may not know that road vehicles produce 10% of all man-made greenhouse gas emissions. This does include vehicles other than cars like trucks, but Tesla just came out with an electric truck which is faster and can carry more weight than any petrol/diesel truck. Greenhouses gases carbon-dioxide and methane have hit their highest levels in the past 420,000 years, and the extent of arctic sea ice has declined about 10% in the last 30 years. This is all because of global warming, and if we start switching to electric cars, we could make a big difference and maybe, just maybe the effects of global warming will decrease.

A lot of people love to hear about energy efficient and environmentally friendly options out there. The electric vehicles today serve great benefits in keeping emissions down and using a more friendly alternative energy source. In my opinion they have made an impact on the environment, but a major benefit in using this alternative resource is less cost to fuel the vehicle. Gasoline is very expensive today, and using the energy that is used to power our home, is much less expensive and more available than gas. The environment, as claimed by environmentalists, suffers due to the emissions of automobiles today.
But that still won’t get rid of pollution. Not everyone needs to stop doing any activities that causes pollution. But, everyone needs to at least try to reduce the amount of activities they do that cause pollution. Simple acts from using common transportation to reusing plastic bags are extremely helpful to our environment and future environment. Start acting now before it’s too late.
Automotive emission related air pollution must be reduced before its effects on health can
Hybrid vehicles, or more specifically hybrid-electric cars, have been the centre of debate since the premier models made their debut back in the 1990s. Environmental activists have been quick to advocate the perks in terms of reduced emissions of greenhouse gases. On the other hand, critiques argue if the costly hybrid technology is worth the savings in fuel cost over the long-haul. Hybrid vehicles use two or more distinct power sources that work in tandem in order to create power. While there is a wide assortment of vehicles that run on hybrid power sources today, cars enjoy the most popularity among consumers.
I feel concerned that anthropogenic activities have damaged the atmosphere which has led to severe detrimental effects over time. Studying Chemistry enabled me to learn the science behind global warming and the consequences for it. This made me think, what current technology could be further utilised to reduce greenhouse gas emission to the atmosphere? Due to this, I want to talk about electric vehicles as I feel that electric cars are the future of humankind. I will persuade you to leave behind the poisonous, toxic, filthy fumes of your present vehicle and switch to an electric car.
Lastly, I would give ways on what you can do to have cleaner air. II. Body a. To begin with, pollution can be
This evidence helps show that electric vehicles can be more cost effective by three times compared to regular cars. The author also stated that the average electric vehicle can make it forty-three miles from one-dollar worth of electricity. This is about one fourth of the cost of a gallon of regular gas. In IEEE’s article the authors said, “In the next 10 to 20 years, changes in vehicular transportation will be driven by escalating fossil fuel prices,” (Austin Micheal and Russ Lefevre). The writer predicts major changes in the car industry because of the huge surge in gas prices.
There are many problems that threatens society and one problem in particular, air pollution is a problem that threatens everyone. Air pollution is the contamination of air with pollutants that are harmful to humans, animals, and the environment. It began to be a problem when humans discovered the uses of fire and then the amount of air pollution exponentially grew after the industrial revolution, and is still a problem even today. The largest causes of air pollution are from human activities such as burning of fossil fuels and gas emissions from manufacturing plants. There are ways that ordinary people can help contribute to prevent air pollution and or else face the dangerous consequences of polluted air.
