In the book they started with Max in daycare at a very young age and it talks about why he is called a kicker and how he first met Freak but in the movie Max firsts meets Freak when he moves in next door. I think that background information is important and that cutting it out can make you feel less connected to the characters. The order of events was pretty much the same but some events changed. By this I mean things like the basketball scenes because in the book Max couldn’t play sports but in the movie Max and Freak are perceived as the best players on the team. I like the book better overall because it is more realistic and has a ton more detail. The movie also changed some things in the book like how when Max and Freak left Freak never
In my opinion there are a lot of comparisons between the film and the book, but there are also differences between them too, but also they have impacted the audience in both the film and the
One difference is Gordy wasn’t in the movie. Also they didn’t shoot True Sons clothes in the book. They didn’t put a ring in the cake and whoever got it had to give it to the girl they liked most. Shenandoah wasn’t in the book but she was in the movie.
In the movie as well there are many parts that are changed from the book. Of course, this may happen in many movies, but the writers from this movie took it to a whole new level. One of the things that are changed in the book is the timeline in which all of these events occur. Making this film very “fake” compared to the original book. In the movie they make the road trip to find Margo just days before prom, making it very possible for them to skip it.
Firstly, in my opinion I think it has more details than the movie. The book has the same characters but in the book there is three sisters. The book had details that felt so real. It described everything, the setting and the mood.
Another difference is that in the movie they go into town, but in the book it 's never mentioned. Something else that was different was that in the book the mood was happy most of the time, while in the movie the mood was sad. A difference between the book and the movie is that in the book momma was going to burn Byron, but in the movie she does not burn him. A big difference is that in the
In all movie adaptations, there must be some change to make it function like a movie. This is evident when discussing the play, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and its 1958 counterpart of the same name. Both are similar in terms of plot, characters, and setting. Despite this, some key plot points were changed when the movie was made that differ from the play. These points change the storyline dramatically.
Also along with the birthday, at Freaks birthday party in the book he has a seizure, the movie never has Freak get a seizure. In the book, Max runs to the medical building to find Freak and breaks the door, in the movie Max ends up in a place filled with people doing laundry. There are lots of little things to that were different like the movie started the setting in school and moved it to the summertime, whereas in the book we started the setting in the summertime and moved it to the school. The book Freak the Mighty and the movie
A big difference that I found was that the stool in the book only had three legs but in the movie it four. In the book the
what was different in the story and movie was some of the characters. Like meg in the book she had frizzy hair, braces and glasses and in the movie she does not have frizzy hair, braces or glasses . For Charles Wallace he is 5 and not in school and in the movie he is 6 or 7 and in school. The setting for
There are details left out of the movie that were in the book, the movie doesn 't demonstrate the ongoing theme of hunger as well as the book does, and the the movie does a better job with
Another difference between the book and the movie is how Max and Freak become Freak the Mighty. For example, Freak and Max in the book at the pond become Freak the Mighty. However, in the movie they become Freak the Mighty at the museum which triggered Freak the Mighty to be delayed. Which causes delay in the main plot of Freak the Mighty. Another point is, the Diner scene in the movie.
The book I was actually getting frustrated that they were taking so long to find Margo but in the movie it happened in a split second. In the book it seemed he took forever to find the clues to finding where the famous Margo Roth Spiegelman took off to find who she was. In the movie the events were mixed up as well like they missed prom and graduation in the book but they made both of them in the movie. His friends just left him there at that abandoned barn to find Margo.
The last main difference was, in the book Hazel goes searching everywhere for Gus letter he wrote her, yet in the movie she finds his letter right in her car after Gus funeral. Those couple of differences were pretty noticeable in the movie if you read
The movie and the book had some differences between each other and it had a major change in the ending. The parts they changed were better in the movie. A man living with insomnia meets a soap maker named Tyler Durden. They are fed up with their lives and invent something to deal with their problems. They invent an underground fighting club called fight club.
The most prominent similarity was the fact that Liesel still adored to steal and read books. Without this trait, this would be an entirely different book. The two most salient differences between the book and movie were the fact that Max Vandenburg didn’t give Liesel and books and that Death didn’t give any, or almost any, comments and narrations. Without these, there are noticeable differences between the film adaptation and book. All in all, I prefered the book better.
