On August 27th, 2011 it was cold and windy outside. It was my first day of first grade. I had one huge fear of spiders at the time, whenever I saw one I screamed and ran away. Since my backyard is a prairie, I have seen spiders many times. They are huge, hairy, and disgusting. I jumped off the bus excited and ready for my first day at McDole Elementry School. I arrived at room 132, and I was greeted by my teacher. "Hi Jenna, I'm Mrs. Bright,"she greeted me. "Hi!", I replied happily. I found my bright pink name tag on a desk. On the way to my desk I tripped over a chair and plopped onto the floor, I quickly jumped back up and seated myself. The buzzing of the lights as they turned on filled my ears with buzzing …show more content…
"Yes," everyone announced. The walls looked like a ton of white bricks stuck together. The next thing thatwas on the agenda was taking a tour around the room. Despite all the fun we were having had to begin learning. Our class started with the first subject of the day, math. I looked on the big white board and written in pink marker said: Addition and Subtraction. I know how to add and subtract I thought to myself. This is going to be fun. Far into our math lesson Mrs. Bright began screaming. We all jumped up in our chairs. Our eyes were all focused on Mrs.Bright. "Look at that spider," my teacher she yelled. We all turned our heads where she was looking and on the plant there was a huge, brown, hairy, spider. All of us students just sat in our seats shocked. I was absolutly terrified. We all Followed by a handful of other classmates I slowly walked toward the spider. My teacher finally stopped screaming and grabbed an empty plastic cup that was on her desk. She handed it to us and we I was very confused about what we should do with the cup. Oh, then the lightbulb in my head turned on. She wanted us to catch the spider, as a
The section where the fear can go away almost instantly may not apply to everyone. Some people out there are different, even if they did try to overcome their fear. They might still be afraid even after trying to own or touch a spider. It is the same thing with fighting a Cyclops. Unlike Odysseus, if people were to fight a Cyclops and win, they might still be skeptical because they were fighting a bloodthirsty monster and were lucky to get out alive
For this worksheet, students would have 8 treasure chests with an equation in them; for example, 4+3 and they would need to cut and paste which equation from the bottom was equal to the one listed above in the chest. (4+3=3+4). Students would then be able to color the different treasure chest. A worksheet that focuses on the Associative property of addition that the students can work on, would be a worksheet that has twelve equations and uses arrows to identify which part of the
She says; “Hi! You must be our new student, Mikey.” Page 12… The principal walks me to my classroom and says; “Hello students.
They can be found in the U.S. on the East Coast, West Coast, and mostly in the South. Brown recluse spiders can inject poison (venom) into the wound when they bite a person. The bite can cause tissue damage in the bite area that may spread. In rare cases, bites can cause a reaction that spreads through the body.
* ** The detectives were still musing over the how of these deaths. Although they noticed the many spider bites on Logan, they couldn’t find a single spider in the whole house. Surely there would be one spider, right?
You would think that’s normal, but no. The bug jumped on to my back and bit me. I collapsed on the floor. Little did I know when I got up things would be different very different.
He stuck his hand underwater while holding the shrimp. A giant stingray approached him and took his food. My eyes grew big, and my long, thick, blonde hair starts falling out of the ponytail. Inside the aquarium gates, I crawled slowly toward the stingrays. Although I was excited to be here, I feared confronting these creatures.
The spider was hoping she would have died in her house so he wouldn't get in trouble. Realizing that she was still alive and might make the connection he scampered off into the woods, prowling for his next victim. So if you’re sitting in the woods and a friendly spider sits down beside
I was the most serious student in my family, even at that young age, and took every assignment as a chance to prove myself. Let 's go back to my elementary school teacher. This
I like that you mentioned the option of using Flooding as a purposed treatment of her phobia versus using Systematic desensitization therapy. Flooding or as you called it Intensive Exposure treatment could work, but she will probably decline that option since it would be very scary for your roommate to experience holding or being in the same room with an actual live spider. If I were to use flooding, I would use a tarantula and have her hold the spider. I would pick a pretty and fuzzy specimen for her to hold, but I truthfully feel that Systematic desensitization therapy is a better option.
Do not judge without having been in the same situation. Little do these people know, I shared a bathroom with a spider for months on end just this past year. I’ll admit, when I first noticed the spider my immediate want was to call down to my dad and have him rid the creature from my presence. This, however, did not happen. I let the spider stay there that day, assuming it would be gone the next.
I truged back to my seat and sat down, I decided that I would need a smaller tool to sculpt the details of the duck. I stepped up to go get up to retrieve the tool, my leg tugged, but I just asummed that my foot was caught, I moved it and it had seemed to be free. I went to go take a step I stumbled and began to plummet toward the floor. I fell into the girl right in front of me!. I was on the floor some what dazed.
was a pleasure to have all of you in this class and I hope you have a great time in high school and wish you all the best for the future.” I proceeded to second period, which was music. In music, we collected our final projects and work for the entire year. After that, we went around the room and signed our yearbooks with other students.
Personal narrative I remember that day better than I remember what I ate for breakfast this morning. I woke up like any other day at 7, except it wasn 't any other day, it would be the first day of School for me in an American school. I was partly excited, partly nervous. I had put on an outfit that my mom told me to put on.
