Society today think that just because guns kill a majority of people, if the government bans them, everything in society will be perfect and there won’t be murders or a police officer can always eliminate the danger. These accusations are not true and it’s all based on the place and time. In conclusion, assault weapons should not be banned. Previous bans have not been successful,
Gun control is a heavily debated topic that many people stand for and against. Gun control has many different backgrounds as well. With gun control there will be less mass shootings like the 2016 shooting in Orlando and the 2017 shooting in Las Vegas (“Gun”). Gun Control laws will help prevent this because it will help keep guns out of the hands of criminals and any other type of released terrorist the best it can.To understand gun control more, it is important to know about the laws passed, pros, and cons. Although there are many different topics that are important to Gun Control, some may believe that the most important is about the laws of Gun Control.
For an example, a good law is that “felons cannot own or be around any guns or weapons” (“Gun Control”). By doing this, the criminals’ weapons are legally taken away. Another good gun control law is the “Seven Day Cool Off Period.” With this law, a person has to wait seven days to receive a gun after purchasing it. If a person gets mad at their boss and wants to buy a gun to kill him, they have to wait seven days to get their gun. At this time, most normal people would have cooled off and would not be a danger.
I think that that is wrong because it is not an assault weapon until it is used to assault something. The gun cannot be blamed for that. The bans California has include banning high capacity magazines, banning pistol grips that the thumb can be wrapped around on rifles, and handguns must be certified for sale(). California has very strict laws, but there are a lot of people who live there and many big cities. I believe their laws are a little extreme, but good for their situation.
Security matters in most of the campuses are threatened by the continuous attack by thugs with less attention from the security personnel. People who are in the campus feel danger and fears from the weapon of the gun. students use their gun on campus to save own life once there is no security personnel, therefore the demand for the self-defense has grown significantly in various campuses. There are three different articles, but these have same point that is antagonizing of the gun on campus. In article of “Guns, Campuses and Madness”, Frank Bruni thinks that how the students of the University of Texas think about misbehavior of firearms.
Running head: GUN VIOLENCE GUN VIOLENCE What Changes Should Be Made Cassius A. Kurns Jr Mr. Redmond Leo High School A way that we can decrease gun violence is have a stricter sale on firearms. Loopholes now exist in the background check system that make it possible for people with criminal records or mental health issues to procure guns. For instance, a gun purchased over the Internet or from a private individual at a gun show is not subject to a background check because neither instance involves licensed gun sellers. Anybody of age can go to a gun show or online to purchase any firearm. If background checks, and polygraph test, then we can decrease gun violence.
The average person does not need a semi-automatic rifle to defend themselves. As our guns have changed, our laws regarding who can carry and what sort of gun they can carry should change as well. In Florida there was a shooting at Majority Douglas High School. The laws in Florida did nothing to protect the students and faculty from this tragedy. Therefore, improved gun control laws could have prevented this from occurring.
One of the opposing is that the teachers are not trained to kill anyone, unlike a cop a cop is trained to pull the trigger on a person but the teachers would only be trained on a metal target on a gun range. This way of thinking is false if the country has come to the point where there are mass shootings, the constitution says every US citizen has the right to bear arms and protect themselves. If a person doesn 't have the ability to protect themselves or the children in there care they might as well be dead anyway. Some would say it would be useless to have a teacher carry a gun, because then the cops would not have a job. Nonetheless the teachers just have to hold off as long as possible until authorities arrive.
They believe that after the traumatic event that caused them the have this pain that something must be done to ban all firearms regardless of who uses them. Everyone fall on this spectrum and that is the issue no one can be one hundred percent right meaning someone will be unhappy with the result. From constitution being first ratified to today the idea of gun control has still existed. Gun control is the regulation of guns through their purchasing, owning, and use. As such starting with the second amendment of the United States constitution which says, “A well regulated Militia, […and] the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed”.
However this should not be the way “By one government estimate, Americans use guns to defend themselves or thwart crimes hundreds of times a day. As gun owners and pro-gun advocacy groups say new gun-control laws in New York will swing the advantage to lawbreakers…” More guns equals more crime, if there was no handguns, there would be less scared people. Speaking of scared one of the scariest weapons is semi-automatic
The sheriff ordered his name not be on the list. He took away his access to use a phone, couldn’t have visitors, and just took away his contact with everybody which is illegal. The police originally told the sheriff that he got the wrong guy be aware of Gregory Allen. The sheriff said don’t worry we got the right guy. Gregory Allen was watched by surveillance every day.
Many activists for gun control are reaching out try to ban guns in America. During the National Rifle Association (NRA) Press Conference on December 21, 2012, Executive Vice President Wayne Lapierre, speaks out against these activists and exclaims “The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.” After hearing about the tragedy, Lapierre wants every school in America to deploy a protection program to keep its students safe. The NRA faces criticism from all over America, about how they are to blame, but Lapierre puts the blame on video games and violent movies such as, “American Psycho” and “Natural Born Killers.” He questions, “Isn’t fantasizing about killing people as a way to get your kicks really the filthiest form of pornography?” Lapierre is willing to give training to both students and teachers on the proper precautions
The threat in this case was never truly identified as a threat, thus making this shooting unlawful. In other instances, if the opposing threat is brandishing a weapon, then law enforcement do have the right to retaliate by shooting their guns, as this is part of their
