I agree with starting school a later time in the morning because it will benefit the students by functioning properly in school and it will prevents car accidents. On the other hand, other people disagree with my argument because they argued that kids need to go to bed earlier. My first reason why school should start at a later time, is that kid will perform and function better in school. Having to get up at 6am in the morning to get ready for school can be very stressful. Kids will get up early to go to school and still feel sleepy because they're sleep-deprived and that can affect how they perform in school.
Lots of people may disagree with the idea of us starting school later and say the school hours are just fine. They may come up with reasons like if we give the children too much time to sleep, they may gain too much energy and overtake the school. If that’s the case then schools need to make and enforce strict rules to keep their children under control, so that they don’t act out. They may also have a problem if we change the school dismissal time, because students already have dismissal plans that work. But then parents shall find an alternative way to get their children home that comprehends with the school’s schedule.
The decision in 2015 to change the school start time later was based of two years of study and debate. Supporters have argued that later high school start time were a good decision because kids are more likely to go to bed later and wake up later. They also said that kids with lack of sleep are at increased risk of depression, car accidents or other problems. But since they changed the time to a later start time at the high school the elementary schools had to change there time also which adds 20 extra minutes to the
Isn’t it fascinating how you can stay healthy and watch your grades increase by just sleeping? School should consider starting later on the grounds that when students don’t get enough rest it could decrease their academic skills. When students don’t get enough rest I can also danger their health and safety. When schools start later it improves academic performances, it prevents car crashes, and also improves physical and health issues. If you are looking for your children to go to a safe environment for learning if you are looking for your children to go to a safe environment for learning go to school is one school start later backspace backspace backspace. If school starts later, then students will be healthier. One reason students would be healthier is because they would get more sleep. Not getting enough sleep is terrible for your body because it can lead to obesity and depression. “Researchers analyzed data from more than 9,000 students at eight different schools in Minnesota, Colorado, and Wyoming, and they
School start time should be changed because it affects the student’s work ethics. To make students less exhausted, and more hard-working kids, start time should be altered. There would be an enormous improvement in the students efforts to get work done. A legitimate start time for school should be 8 in the morning and end at 3 in the afternoon. School time should be changed because it would make an impact on not only the students, but the teachers as well.
Also in the article it says “The research shows, for example, that middle- and high-school benefit more from sleeping late than younger students.” This is saying maybe middle school and up is good to go to sleep later at night. So maybe they can let the little kids (elementary schools) should go to school later, because there practices won’t be as long; however, I still think that we should stay the same time. Also like I said your parents probably go early in the morning and don’t come back till the
Later school starts have also been associated with less depression and anxiety. And according to the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine, starting later, “aid peak alertness and performance while supporting better mental health and student safety.” It seems as though there’s only benefits to changing school start times. Maybe that’s why according to debate.org, 79% of people surveyed agree with start times being later. However, changing something so concrete is difficult because of busses, and sports with their practices, and also job shift times. This can all be changed with more funding for busses.
By pushing back the start time by just an hour or two many lives could be saved and accidents could be prevented. Teenagers and children would have many different benefits if school started later, including better grades, better health and even less injuries/accidents. Parents would have to worry less and so would the teachers. All in all there are many reasons school should be starting
You need to be in class by seven thirty or risk getting detention. Even though this panic feeling of being late and tired is all too familiar to most teenagers if not all, many schools still have starting times before seven thirty and don’t realize that it greatly affects the amount of sleep a teenager gets resulting in lower test scores. Although getting enough sleep may not seem like that hard of a task, medical research shows that teens who regularly get too little sleep are
Do you think middle school should start later in the day? In my opinion we should because kids would do better in school. Middle school start later in the day because kids will not be late for school or class. With school starting later in the day kids will increase grades on their report card. When kids do not get enough it is a higher risk of drug and alcohol and.
However, imagine a child’s experience through school without recess. For a growing number of students, losing recess is a startling reality while forty percent of U.S. schools are currently reducing or eliminating recess time (Dills 889). The elementary schools claim more classroom instruction is needed instead of recess. However, recess is a crucial part of children’s development and should not be eliminated. Elementary schools should be required to provide adequate recess time because recess promotes social development and increases physical activity that improves classroom focus
