Each decade had a different type of fashion. The fashion of the decades have a meaning for it and why people wore the clothes that they wore everyday. Some people in today 's society make fun of the clothes people wore through the years, but they do not understand the importance in it. Fashion is a big part of today’s world, people think that if they don’t have the same clothes as other people then they don’t fit in. Fashion, like many other things, has changed from decade to decade. Each decade’s fashions possessed specific pieces which spoke to the attitude of that generation.

People would often wear, tie dye shirts, bright colored blouses,ponchos, bell bottom jeans, frayed jeans, skirts and midway maxi dresses. For the shoes, they wore fitted flat shoes. The fashion during this time took the fashion from 1960 and made it better. When people would wear the tie dye shirts that usually means they were not going anywhere fancy, or maybe go do a few things and don’t need to look nice. If the women wanted to look sophisticated they would wear bright colored blouses and ponchos, and skirts and midway maxi dresses to match. When they would wear frayed jeans and bell bottom jeans they were going for a casual look and an everyday attire. People today do not understand the importance of the fashion in the 1970s.
