Good communication skills, the ability to handle administrative duties and maintaining strong student interactions are the qualities that make a professional assistant principal. Assistant principals assist principals and teachers in developing the academic criteria that propel students to reach their full potential. Assistant principals help teachers create lessons, counsel students in educational matters and uphold the disciplinary operations for a productive school environment.
A good assistant principal uses experience and knowledge to counsel students about any personal issues that may be affecting their school performance. Assistant principals also give guidance to the student concerning any classroom behavior that may be disruptive.

Essential characteristics of the principal’s role have been identified by groups such as the Interstate School Leaders Licensure Consortium, and the Educational Leadership Constituent Council. Standards from both these organizations require that a principal have a vision of learning, advocate for students, collaborate with teachers and the community, provide a safe environment, act with integrity, and understand the social and political confines in which we live. The first domain in the Florida Principals Leadership Standards, Student Achievement, is divided into two separate Standards. The first standard is about Student Learning Results and achieving previously set standards. Out of the many leadership styles that were discussed in class, I felt that the path-goal theory fit the purpose of this standard the best. The implementation of path Goal-theory begins by identifying the objectives to be reached as “The school 's learning goals are based on the state 's adopted student academic standards and the district 's adopted curricula” (“The Florida Principal,” n.d.). My job as a leader would then be to clear out any foreseeable, and unforeseen obstacles so that my pupils can achieve success as
As a teaching assistant you can give children and young people the tools to building relationships by modelling appropriate behaviour. Calvin Neal Exploring a Health Career: Physician Assistant Ever since my cousin Paul, whom I’ve always looked up to, went to college and became a PA, I’ve wanted to follow in his footsteps. The definition of a physician assistant is “someone qualified to assist a physician and carry out routine clinical procedures under the supervision of a physician.” However, physician assistants can be so much more than that. I possess several personal attributes that are essential in serving in the capacity of an assistant principal.
