Since, my childhood, I was extraordinarily inclined towards the field of science and technology. As time passed, my passion for food products increased and interest in knowing their making procedure forced me to proceed with food technology. Eager to learn everything about food processing, I visited various small manufacturing food plants in the vacation during my primary education. After that, I applied for a bachelor of food technology in one of the prestigious agricultural colleges in my city, this is the only college which is government funded and provides a degree in food technology. I also got my inspiration towards this field from my Cousin who serves as a Food technologist in a leading food manufacturing company. He was the one who introduced me to food preservation techniques, advance packaging, safety and standards. The brothers began to run their restaurant in a factory style. Each worker only had one specific job to do. Because the workers were assigned simple tasks, they were all paid a low wage and were easily replaced.

In world the food industry is marked as great diversity and variety in terms of both presentation and flavor. For a country’s economic development an important role is played by the food industry of that country. One of the greatest food industries is Publix and I am so great full to be part of it. While working at Publix I discovered that how people and food are connected. And working as a clerk at Publix I contribute to people and food connection by making sure there is no unsafe food, check expiry date of a product, broken lid etc.

What is Processed Food? The term ‘processed food’ applies to any food that has been changed from its natural state in some way, either for safety reasons or convenience. Some foods need processing to make them safe, such as milk, which needs to be pasteurized to remove harmful bacteria. Other foods need processing to make them suitable for use, such as pressing seeds to make oil.
Based on my data for my daily intake of foods, I would say that I live a pretty healthy life. I went over the food groups and calories, nutrients, food details and meal summary of my food diary and I thought it was interesting to look at all the little details of the different foods I ate throughout the day for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. If I had to set 5 goals to improve my nutrition in what I eat and how I keep myself healthy I would have to say for the first one, exercise more, the second one choose healthier meal options, third one eat more throughout the day, fourth one choose healthier snacks, and for the last one do not eat when bored. I try to exercise as much as I can when I have free time, but it is sometimes hard to find some free time.
