Gun Control Will Not Reduce Crime In the past few years, the debates of gun control in the United States are never stop. People consider gun control as a way to protect ordinary citizens. Unfortunately, gun control seems perfect, but it cannot stop criminals to obtain guns illegally. Gun control represents no guns and shootings, but in another way, it also means no resistance. Gun control laws create safe environment for criminals rather than other people, because only criminals would get guns if the government prohibit owning guns.

Horrifying incidents, happen when people defend the “right” of being able to own a gun. How about the Las Vegas Shooting, which killed fifty-nine, and injured 527 people. What about the Texas Church Shooting, where the shooter, was Devin Patrick Kelly, a former Air Force member.
Gun Control Imagine you are sitting in classroom listening to a lecture when all of a sudden you hear the loud unmistakable sounds of gun shots. The sound of panic is heard you don’t know what to do. This scenario is not far from reality, gun violence has gripped our nation with horror in the recent years. Gun control issues are knocking on the door of our schools, malls, and public events.
Guns are undoubtedly dangerous yet, unlike most dangerous items they are far more controversial to talk about. There are two extreme positions on this topic that many can fall into when talking about firearms. Some want to ban guns completely, while the other side feels like guns are a right granted by our constitution and do not need regulation but instead, educate gun owners on the proper usage of a firearm. There are some flaws in both arguments. The problem with banning guns is that we should protect ourselves if the need arises.

Since the Columbine High School shooting in 1999, there have been over 30 more school shootings resulting in 160 fatalities. The majority of these have been committed by one or more students who walk through the front doors and open fire. These kids have had easy access to guns, some of which were military style assault rifles. The frequency of school shootings since 1999 has risen and is consistently rising. There may be no way to stop them from happening anymore unless we institute stricter gun laws.
